Cold Process Soap?
Cold process soap making is the combination of oils (fatty acids) with sodium hydroxide know as lye (base). This results in the chemical reaction known as saponification.
You use lye in your soaps?
Yep. We have to. Real soap is made with lye, there is no getting around that. However, when properly combined with the oils, no lye remains in the finished product. Nope, not magic. Science!
So, that's it? The soap is ready to use?
Not so fast. Good things come to those who wait and cold process soap requires a cure time. A 4 to 6 week cure time is standard. After all, patience is a virtue.

Why don't you use Palm Oil?
Lots of research went into the oils we use in our soaps. Before our first batch of soap was even made I knew that it would be palm oil free. This was not a hard decision to make after learning about the industries link to major issues such as deforestation, climate change and animal cruelty. Even though our usage of palm oil would be minuscule we believe the bucket fills up one minuscule drop at a time and we are proud to be a palm oil free soapery.
All of our soaps are made with food and cosmetic grade natural oils and butters. Many of which are organic.

formaldehyde free
petroleum free
sodium lauryl sulfate free (SLS)

How long will a bar of The Wright Soapery soap last in my shower?
Oh this is a tough question.
Really, it depends on how often you bathe and for how long. To obtain the longest possible life from your soap we suggest that you let it dry between uses and don't let it sit in a puddle of water. We do offer fabulous soap dishes that can help with this.

Can I use The Wright Soapery soap on my entire body including my face or is it just for hands?
Heck yes you can! You can use our soaps on your whole body every day. Keep in mind that they are for external use only. And please avoid your eyes.
Are your soaps vegan?
Yes.
If we ever decide to use a non-vegan friendly ingredient, such as honey or goats milk, we will let you know in the description.

I would like to learn how to make soap. Do you offer classes?
Sorta.
We have workshops where we go over basics of cold process soap making . Each participant will make their very own mini loaf of cold process soap. See the Workshop section for more info about that.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, we do! A dog and two cats, Rocky, Bullwinkle and Little Cat -- they hate baths.
Can I use my The Wright Soapery soap on my pet?
No, we make people soap.
Shipping Policy
We ship throughout the United States, its territories and Canada. All in stock orders ship via USPS 2-3 days after being placed (unless otherwise noted). All orders containing a pre-sale item will ship on the pre-sale release date. You will be provided with a tracking number once your items ship. Please make sure your shipping address and email are correct. We are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address that was provided to us. We can not split shipping destinations on the same order. Please contact us within 24 hours of placing an order if changes need to be made. You can do that HERE.
Return Policy
We do not accept returns. However, if you are not happy with your purchase, please contact us within 5 days of receiving your shipment. Don't just wash your hands of us... give us the chance to work something out! We want you to love your soap and your experience. You can contact us HERE.
